Edward Luo (b.2001, Miami, Florida) is a Chinese-American artist currently residing in Baltimore. His work employs interdisciplinary techniques, the most prominent ones being woodworking and music production. He dwells on the Japanese ideology Wabi Sabi, the acceptance of transience and imperfection as he collects and processes wood from different backgrounds. The objects he creates allude to a space that bridges wood and sound, revealing their most endearing qualities. Through the inherent warmth and familiarity found in these media, Luo connects the aesthetics of wood to its ability to compliment music.
Luo graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in Interdiscplinary Sculpture, and a minor in Sound Art.
